Lake District Wild Camping Spots

I am lucky enough to live near the Lake District and so I often spend weekends walking on the fells. As a result I have plenty of opportunities to scout out suitable lake district wild camping spots. Most people don’t have the lakes on their door step and so they have to rely on scouring over OS maps to find suitable locations. For this reason I decided to help people out a bit.

Unlike most other wild campers I don’t keep my wild camping spots in the Lake District and other areas secret. I rarely camp in the same location twice anyway so I prefer to share past locations so that others can benefit from them in future.

Lake District Wild Camping Spots

Each article contains all the information you will need to get started:

  • OS Map info and grid references

  • Where to park
  • Nearest water supply
  • Recommended and alternative routes with GPX file downloads.

Hopefully this will prove useful to those people who aren’t as great with maps or don’t have a huge amount of experience wild camping.

I have also included a few Yorkshire Dales wild camping spots as well, for those looking a little further afield.
